FAQ — Bosch Car Service Tijuana

Question 1

How often should I change my engine oil?

Accepted Answer

Most modern vehicles require an oil change every 5,000–7,500 km (3,000–5,000 miles) with conventional oil, or every 10,000–15,000 km (6,000–10,000 miles) with full synthetic. Always follow your owner's manual. Regular oil changes are the single most important thing you can do to extend engine life.

Question 2

When should I replace my brake pads?

Accepted Answer

Brake pads should be inspected every 20,000 km (12,000 miles) and replaced when they reach 3mm of thickness or less. Warning signs include squealing or grinding noises, a vibrating brake pedal, or a longer stopping distance. Worn brakes are a serious safety risk — don't delay.

Question 3

How do I know if my battery needs to be replaced?

Accepted Answer

Car batteries typically last 3–5 years. Signs of a failing battery include slow engine cranking, dim headlights, a swollen battery case, or a battery warning light on your dashboard. We recommend a free battery test at every oil change to catch problems before you're stranded.

Question 4

How often should I rotate my tires?

Accepted Answer

Tires should be rotated every 8,000–12,000 km (5,000–7,500 miles) — typically every other oil change. Regular rotation ensures even tread wear, extends tire life, and maintains balanced handling. Uneven wear can cause dangerous handling issues, especially in wet conditions.

Question 5

What does the check engine light mean?

Accepted Answer

The check engine light can signal anything from a loose gas cap to a serious engine or emissions problem. Never ignore it. A solid light usually means a non-urgent issue; a flashing light indicates a serious fault that can damage your catalytic converter if you keep driving. Bring your vehicle in for a diagnostic scan as soon as possible.

Question 6

How often should I check my tire pressure?

Accepted Answer

Check tire pressure at least once a month and before any long trip. Properly inflated tires improve fuel economy by up to 3%, extend tire life, and — most importantly — reduce the risk of a blowout at highway speeds. The correct pressure is listed on the sticker inside your driver's door, not on the tire sidewall.

Question 7

What makes Bosch-certified service different?

Accepted Answer

Our technicians are trained on the latest Bosch diagnostic tools and follow manufacturer-approved procedures. This means accurate diagnoses, quality parts, and repairs done right the first time — regardless of your vehicle's make or model.

Accepted Answer
